The Subway Series began when an artist friend, April Castoldi inspired me to post a sketch a day on Facebook. I was riding the New York City subway regularly - I began to sketch my fellow riders. One year and close to 800 sketches later below find a selection. The works are 3 1/2 “ x 5” There are pencil sketches, charcoal and pen on acid free paper. The subway is composed of people traveling together. . . .from different places, languages and cultures doing what New Yorkers do best. . . .getting along with each other.
